fastrthnu Posted March 28, 2007 Report Posted March 28, 2007 finally got my timing plate on and my jetting was dead on before and now its crisspy in the bottom middle. not sure if its lean or rich. Generally, when timing is advanced,. does it need to go richer? 4 degrees. Quote
mpbanshee Posted March 28, 2007 Report Posted March 28, 2007 I would think that if all you did was bump the timing +4 you should not have to rejet. I would run it at the throttle position where you are unsure for 10-15 seconds. Without letting off the throttle, kill it, pull the clutch and coast to a stop. Pull your plugs and check the color. I set up with a +4 plate new stator and flywheel and I have a bike that pulls hard wheelies very easy in bottom and runs slower than a stocker everywhere else. Motherr $%#$% Quote

Motherr $%#$% If all you did was put on a timing plate for +4, and now it runs worse, something is wrong, and I doubt it is a jetting issue. I would pull the cover off, and check to make sure everything looks good. Maker sure the flywheel is on tight, and check the pick up coil gap. Gotta be something simple... Quote
