Bolo-Banshee Posted March 19, 2007 Report Posted March 19, 2007 I'm pretty new to this site but have been riding for about 4 years.I bought an 06 shee and a friend said to buy a clutch lockout for it,so I did.Haven't received it yet,but would like to know some of you guys opinions on it.What big difference does it make and are they worth the money? Bansh-eman Posted March 19, 2007 Report Posted March 19, 2007 they are for sure worth the money.... your clutch plates will last forever... all your power that slipped before will hit your tires now.... you got the cover too right? you cant just throw it on there with the stock cover it will hit... also once you get the cover your going to have to tweak your brake peddle some so it doesnt hit... Cool'-thanx for the info....especially knowing something about the brake peddle hitting. What is the best way to fix that?By the way I did get the cover as well. It's the one with the clear or what ever color see through clutch cover you want on it.It's also supposed to be polished as well. Bansh-eman Posted March 19, 2007 Report Posted March 19, 2007 oh for sure a cub without a lockup makes as much sence as bangin a hooker without a rubber... Quote

theshee Posted March 19, 2007 Report Posted March 19, 2007 You can just adjust the brake down a little. Some cons are that some foot pegs need ground, and the expense of the cover to fit the lockup. Other then that they are worth every penny. Instead of losing power in the clutch, you get it all to the ground. Quote
FireHead Posted March 19, 2007 Report Posted March 19, 2007 You can just adjust the brake down a little. That's all I had to do. I didn't say anything because I have those IMS pegs that I thought might make the brake pedal situation better. Quote

theshee Posted March 19, 2007 Report Posted March 19, 2007 You should be alright with them, if not you only have to grind the corner off about a 1/4 inch or so. Not worth getting new pegs or anything, just grind them if they dont work. Quote

Pro's - Higher HP bikes it will extend your clutch life and stop any slippage at higher RPM's where power is made, bling factor (they look tits) Con's - For duning, you right foot will be out about an inch farther on the pegs, to clear the mod to the cover, your brake pedal has to be adjusted down, expensive (like $300'ish), kinda noisy too For anything less than about 80HP, I'd just stick with the stock setup unless you want the extra flash on the bike. Yeah, I think they're a waste on stock or bolt on only bikes. once you get some real porting done...then they're a must. I think once you go "cub" it's pretty much a must along with an override tranny...dunable or std. 91 banshee...what kind of clutch are you running now? I had (still have) jeff's clutch on my old 4 mil on gas...just put all 6 HD springs in...and it worked awesome!! Still using the same clutch in my new 10 mil drag bike.... Quote

Still using the same clutch in my new 10 mil drag bike.... i have the hd springs in every other one , hinsen basket 8 plate race clutch , dunno what brand i am sure my setup is upper 90s hp with the port job and i sprayed the juice the other day to it crazy power came even with the new 15 tooth up front 6th was there in a blink and i was looken more gear so you arent running a lockup on your 10mm? dajogejr Posted March 20, 2007 Report Posted March 20, 2007 Yeah...you need all 6 HD springs for one. I was at 85 HP on my 4 mil cub with stock ignition, T5s and stock carbs.... I estimate mid to high 90's once I put 35's, Shearers, Dyna and Nology on it. Never dreamed of running it on only 3HD springs though. I had a stock tranny and good clutch in my 4 mil, but...it didn't shift for shit. I'm going override and lockup on my 10, I learned my lesson.... Once you ride a bike with an override..everything else is a joke...it feels like you gain 20HP with an override, no BS. What kind of cub are you running?? Quote
