ClimbAnyHill Posted March 5, 2007 Report Posted March 5, 2007 Yeah, some nice turds!! Funny, the description says "They are not perfect they have a few small dents and scratches" :yelrotflmao: Quote
r/atvshee Posted March 5, 2007 Report Posted March 5, 2007 those pipes are sexy seriously though. were they high when they did that? :shoothead: Quote
csrmel Posted March 5, 2007 Report Posted March 5, 2007 id like to see any of you make a better pipe. you guys have any idea how hard it is to make custom pipes like that? so the thing is rusty and dirty and probably doesnt perform nearly as good as a set of shearer or cpi, so what you got to admire the effort it took to make them. Anybody with a welder can make the same pipe. All this guy did was cut the expansion chamber, flip it around...and reweld it so the stinger tube was pointing out instead of in towards the frame/seat.... I haven't welded in a few years, and I know for a fact I could do better than that. Any one want to send me a cheap set of old inframe pipes, DG, PC....any old junk you have laying around...I can do the same thing. I also saw a guy with T5's heat up the head pipe, bend them out....and bolt them to the footpegs without silencers.... Ghetto too, but...at least he didn't cut them, turn them 180 degrees...and reweld them back on. Quote

Really, you wouldn't want to see me make a pipe. They would look just as bad. Welding isn't my field. I'll give that guy credit for his efforts on a build like that but hell no I wouldn't buy them & I will never like them. Sorry, they look like crap. Quote

I made this set of pipes. It's wasn't that hard. Getting them to the nearest chrome shop (happened to be in Canadia) was the hardest part. Those pipes pictured in the auction took next to no effort to make and are probably one of the larger piles of crap that I have seen on eBay lately. Think before you type, you might try it some time. bansheeryder_69 Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 I bet they were louder than hell would make your banshee stand out thats for sure Quote
FireHead Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 I bet they were louder than hell would make your banshee stand out thats for sure The pipes in the picture that I made had silencers in them. If we are talking about the pipes on eBay, then I am sure that they are load and would definitely make you bike stand out. Quote
ClimbAnyHill Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 That's a nice looking pipe Firehead! Is that what you're running on your Banshee? Quote
FireHead Posted March 12, 2007 Report Posted March 12, 2007 That's a nice looking pipe Firehead! Is that what you're running on your Banshee? Not anymore. I made those pipes about 4-5 years ago when I lived up in WA. I copied the dimensions of a CPI expansion chamber and added a silencer to them. I actually think the pipes wound up looking like a set of Power Pro pipes that I had around the same time, except the ones I made were quite a bit better quality. I have made several other sets of pipes with varying levels of quality and performance. I can certainly say that I have never done anything as gay as what was being auctioned off in the auction on eBay. Quote
r/atvshee Posted March 12, 2007 Report Posted March 12, 2007 i was about to say that your pipes do look like power pro pipes. as for the ebay people. They probably couldve had better results using stock pipes :shoothead: Quote
