bgbeards Posted March 3, 2007 Report Posted March 3, 2007 (edited) I am in the process of building my banshee and am wondering if I will be needing a larger tank. I was running a 1mm overbore, stock port banshee jetted with FMF pipes. My current build will include a dune port on .25mm overbore, 28PWK's with pod filters, V-force 3's and T5's. I usually would barley hit the reserve on our longest rides, how much worse will my new setup be. Considering either a 4.0 tank or the 5.5. Any help from others with similar mods would help. Thanks. 06BaNsHeE Posted March 3, 2007 Report Posted March 3, 2007 I think all those tanks are ugly personally I would just get a six pack rack and just take a 2.8 gallon tank. But thats just my opinion Quote

I am not a fan of the looks of those tanks, but if you are running out fuel now, you will only use more as you modify the motor. The other alternative is to get a six pack rack and strap a gas can to it. Quote
FasterThanU90 Posted March 3, 2007 Report Posted March 3, 2007 its not gonna be that much of a difference ur only goin 2 sizes on the carb Quote

ClimbAnyHill Posted March 3, 2007 Report Posted March 3, 2007 I got the IMS 4 gal & doesn't look ugly at all. I'm stock w/T5's but ride all damn day where ever I want without worrying about fuel. Think the 4 Gal tank looks better than the rack. Quote

Think the 4 Gal tank looks better than the rack. Yours is the only one that I haven't thought was funny looking. Yours definitely looks better than a six pack rack. A six pack rack can look good on a bike too, but that is usually an exception rather than a rule. I guess when I think of a larger tank I think of the 5,5 gallon tanks that are "cartoom'ish". Quote
bgbeards Posted March 4, 2007 Author Report Posted March 4, 2007 I was thinking the 4.0 would be my best bet. I guess I got to be looking for some stock plastic so I can use it. Thanks. Quote
scotts96fast Posted March 4, 2007 Report Posted March 4, 2007 If you do buy a oversized tank, get a Clark.I think they look good, they also have the fins molded into the tank for cooling.I have a clark tank and carry 2.5 gallons and can go 80 miles with a worry. looks will not get ya to point b when your out of gas!.
