I am thinking of selling my 2005 Harley Davidson Sportster 1200 Custom in preparation for my upcoming career move. It has about 5600 miles on it with some tasteful aftermarket stuff on it like Vance & Hines pipes, Arlen Ness air cleaner, Progressive rear shocks, Corbin seat, Avon tires, and so on. I have all the OEM stuff I have taken off like the pipes, air cleaner, and seat. It is still covered under warranty and is in fantastic condition.

My questions are the following:

1.)How should I go about selling it? (eBay, Cycle Trader, Craig's list)

2.)What should I ask for it? (I live in SoCal and it's tax return time)

3.)I still owe Harley a bit of money for the bike. What is the procedure for the transaction between the buyer, myself, and Harley?

1) List it forsale on whatever people look on the most around there.\

2) Cant tell you how much to ask in that area. You would just have to look around and see what they are selling for there. I can tell you here a bike like that might bring close to 10,000.

3) When the buyer gives you the money you give him a bill of sale and tell him that you will give him the title as soon as you get the money to Harley and they give you the title.

not sure but sporties around here have no resale ,your gonna take a hit if you boght it new. i think you can buy it new for like $9500 -$10000

This is certainly something I was concerned with. I can't remember what I paid when I bought it new. I am not sure what resale on a Sportster is around here.

Here is another picture that I just took today.

I get to ride pretty much every day here in SoCal. I really only drive my truck three or for times a month (grocery store). I am not sure that I really need to sell it, but it would sure make moving alot easier.
