I know there's a search button, i checked here but nothing on there answered my questions and since my pc is broken at home and i work full time, i cant spend hours and hours searching. Anyways, on with the thread....

I was thinking about putting on a "bolt on" big bore kit like the 4mm cub kits i hear so much about. I looked up prices for them on their website but it says i have to call for prices. I have a few questions before i lay down the money for it.

*It must be bolt on, no machine work(i only have basic hand tools).

*I need to know the prices on the different cub kits.

*What support equipment do i need?(bigger radiator to help cooling/heavy duty clutch/longer swing arm?

*pump gas is a must too(if i cant run pump gas i will just start looking into a port job and other things of that nature)

*I have t6 pipes and will that hold me back?

*will it be reliable like my bike is now?

*how much is the cost of up maintaning it(top end rebuilds etc)

I dont care to go with a long swing arm cuz i like to pull the front end up like i do now with the stock swinger arm. I wouldnt mind going wider in the rear and front a-arms to help stability.

Most impotant, my shee right now is a playbike. It will not be used for anything other than playing around. There will be drag races, putt putting, top speed runs, donuts and all the other stuff i like to do with my shee right now. Basicly what im trying to say is that i dont want a drag only bike or a dune only bike.

I'm really worried if the final cost is worth it. If i dont like what i read from here, i will just go with a port job, lightened flywheel and head work.

Hey....Ragin....good to see you over here.

I can answer your question honestly and truthfully from experience...

Get your stockers ported. And sell your T6 pipes for a pipe that likes extensive porting better.

T6 are a great pipe. For stock and slightly ported motors.

A cub is a LARGE commitment, period. It's not just a motor, it's a clutch, tranny work, higher flowing carbs, bigger exhaust, longer swing arm...etc.

You can try to neuter it down for playing around and trails...but the bottom line is it will always be a lightwswitch dune/drag style motor. No power at all in lower RPMs, you can make some of that up with Timing and compression, but...you want pump gas. So...throw those right out the window....then...at about 6500 or 7000 RPM, it'll yank you by the collar....and start pulling and pulling....

A cub motor is not a good choice for a play bike. It is a great choice for a serious duner and drag racer...which, it is clearly not all you want to do. And a stock swinger on any size cub is pretty worthless, to be honest...

You can save money and get your stockers ported and you'll be much happier with the cost and power delivery in the end....

I know the guys over on E2S like eviltwin and Passion...but, call a half dozen builders, get their pricing, see how backed up they are...and see how comfortable you are talking to them on the phone, how well they answer your questions...etc.

You get what you pay for...and customer service should be at the top of the list.

yeah dajogejr, i come here from time to time usualy just to read up on things.

Anyways, thanx for taking time out to explain things to me. I will not go with a cub set up now. The only way i can do that is to have two banshees, my current one and another bike with a cub set up in it. Too pricey for me right now. I find my powerband is a lightswitch now, so i cant image something stronger.

Flotek on e2s will be doing my port/engine work when the time comes if i like what they say. One of the flotek guys mentioned running my shee till it needs a new top end, then go with the port job and engine work. That's what i will do.

I get beat by 450s' all the time in drag and i accpet my bike isnt the fastest. That's not my goal. I just want a faster and more fun bike in general. I plan to get some Elka front sespenion and get them to repack my rear shock. I want to focus on getting my bike set up to ride better and i want to add things like nerf bars and other things that will make it easier and a joy to ride. Both my bikes run great and are fast enough and they are reliable. That's all i really care about. I wanna order some ASV(i think that's the name of it) clutch/brake levers for my bike soon. That's the next thing to order from motorsport.

I would also reccomend getting a good port job on the stock cylinders. Maybe something like the passion "hot MX" 12 port. The cubs power comes on pretty abruptly which is fine for the dunes or drag but doesn't make the best play bike, although I use mine like that but it is a big compramise in the trails. FYI cub cylinders run around $875 and a +4 crank is $450, a +4 cub kit is around $1200. You also need carbs, pipes, swingarm, ect. so $2000+ total.

Don't forget lockup clutch, override tranny....etc.

That's exactly why I bought my second bike...a used 400EX off a friend. Great for trails, fun to wheelie...fun to jump and beat on, pull up to the pump and fill up, then turn a key and push a button to start it.

I've got the best of both worlds....it just takes two quads...LOL.

not sure i this post will work cuz im usin my xboto surf th net heh.

I thouht about gettin a 400ex to beat on and stunt with but i will just keep my shee right now. The only problem with my shee i can think of is lack of traction. It's great for sliding the rear en out but it scks for drag racing and learning to wheelie. anywasys i love my shee.

sr o the bad typing, my keyboard for my xbox sucks.
