Have you checked your clutch adjustment on top of the case. Are the arrows lined up? It is also possible that your clutch basket is grooved which will make the plates not want to spread apart when clutch pulled in. Couple places to start.

Agreed..check basket, inner and outer hubs and the adjustment.

If those are all fine, nature of the beast.

 

My basket, inner and outer were brand new, perfectly adjusted on my 4 mil...and in gear if I revved it way up with the clutch pulled in...it would lurch a tad.

I agree. Brand new clutch components all the way around and perfectly adjusted mine will creep when I rev it getting ready to launch. That didn't happen till I had quite a bit of power though.

all new clutch components hinson basket just built a 4 mil long rod with alot of porting 60or 80 over milled stock head i dont think a ton of power but feels preety good

iv got the same thing.... if i kick it over in gear it will try to roll the bike... i have to take it out of gear to start it... and then when i pop it into first it hits pretty hard.. if i rev it , it will creep... like said just the nature of the beast...

Check the clutch adjustment (clutch arm/pointer on the left side of the case), you may have a hair too much play in the rod that pushes the clutch hub out. If it doesn't push the hub out far enough the friction disks and steals will still rub enough to make you creep forward like that. Be careful though, not enough free play will cause friction on the end of the rod and burn it up which really sucks.

If the your clutch is adjusted right on the top of your case then I would check your pressure plate.When you have a bad pressure plate the bike tends to move when the clucth is pulled in. Thats what happened to fouledout2 and he had a bad pressure plate

mine never did it until I installed a new billit basket and barnett clutches. I adjusted mine to the yamaha service manual also. I think when you remove the o-rings it moves the frictions and steals closer together causing them to rub more even if you adjust the pressure plate correctly. one of my other problems that I have encountered with my setup is I use the heavy duty springs. I don't have a problem pulling the stiff springs in but the stock clutch cable took a beating and streached out and I think that also has a factor in the lurching. I need to replace mine and you should check yours also. my two cents
