Hi,

I just bought my first banshee today. I have a few questions about it though. Not sure whats going on here.

When i am starting my banshee it tends to roll forward...even with the clutch pulled. Whats the deal here? Is the clutch bad or something? As soon as the first pop is heard through the pipes the quad moves forward as if it is in gear slightly or you dont have the clutch pulled in all the way.

I have a weird misfire issue. When i am running say in 3rd gear at a relitively low rpm only the left exhaust is heard. As the throttle is increased the right cylinder will start sputtering around 1/4 throttle and then it kicks in and away you go ready or not. It does not do this when riding hard. Only when cruising and slowly increasing the throttle. Is this a sign of something to come or is something out of adjustment or is this normal?

Also it seems like i have no low end power. I have to really rev to get going in first. Is this becuase its 10 degrees out? The quad has pro circuit exhaust on it and the jetting has never been changed. Is this bad?

Basically i want to know what to look for so i dont regret it later!

thanks

When starting it make sure it's in Neutral...Then it shouldn't jerk forward when trying to start it. The clutch may need to be adjusted a bit, But not a big deal..Also make sure there's the correct amount of gear oil in it. If it jerk forward in neutral then you have clutch issues.

As far as your misfire issue....you need to answer these questions...

1. Is the air box removed or installed

a. what type of filter are on it if the airbox is removed

2. Have you synchronized the carbs?

3 have you cleaned the carbs thoroghly?

4. Any engine/intake/exhaust mods ( Are you running Full Pro Circuit exhaust)

5. What is your current jetting at?(Should have rejetted when installing the Pro Circuits)

6. What is your elevation?

7. Have you done a compression check?( This is a good idea to see how healthy your engine is)

8. Did you make sure your air screws are 1.5-2 turns from fully seated?

9. Is the TORS crap still attached/connected to the carbs??

10. If the TORS is still there...GET RID OF IT.

The more info we have on the mods and bike and you elevation the more we will be able to help you....

CONGRATS on your purchase of a banshee, Welcome to the HQ and most of all....Welcome to the addiction.

Is that to say you've never rejetted the bike since buying it, or do you know for a fact that the jets are stock? Pipes and a filter + 10 degree temps with stock jets? Thats a time bomb, man!!! Do a search for "plugchop", this procedure is a must for us 2 strokers.

If the engine is cold, it is normal that it pulls on the clutch. The clutch is filled with oil, and when the oil is cold it's thick, therefore it will pull forward a little.

If it still pulls when the engine is hot and you have run for a while, you have to adjust the clutch.

Hope you understand my very bad english :)
