I would like some opinions on the differences in power outputs between cub 358cc, 392cc, and 421cc cylinders. I know the bigger bore and stroked motors will make more hp, but what type of power? Ie: does the 421 have a lot more bottom and a smoother powerband, but rev a little less than say a 358, or is the increased power mainly applied to the peak hp? This is assuming equal pipes, carbs, etc.

What I'm trying to figure out is if it's really worth spending the extra money on a stroker crank and using more expensive blaster pistons.

well i cant answer you 100% on the differant size cubs so im not going to open my mouth on that but as far as the stroker crank and blaster pistons...

a 4mil with minimal mods to get it running will produce ruffly 7% more power..the blaster pistons shouldnt cost much more, they are the same thing as 795 series but bigger bore diameter..

if you dont have to run that big of a piston then dont bother opening up your jugs to acheiv the size ... run 795 all the way until your sleev is worn out... i want to say the first size blaster piston is a 66mm and the 795 goes to 66.5, but im not for sure on that... so to bore it out to run 66 blasters is kinda pointless for the small mount of power your going to gain over say 64.5mm and the moeny youll spend on a big bore kit to resleeve it you might as well get a cub... just my .48 cents :)
