Your chain will last longer, if you leave the 14 tooth on the front, and put a 43 or 44 tooth on the rear. Going 2-3 teeth bigger on the back, is close to the same, as going 1 tooth less in the front. Quote
RIPPEN Posted December 14, 2006 Report Posted December 14, 2006 You are correct.. You drop teeth in front or go more in rear it gives more "low end".. Add teeth in front or less in rear gives more top.. Usually the rule of thumb is one tooth up front equals 2-3 in rear. I used to have a 13 tooth front sprocket but I like it better with the 14 back on and a couple extra teetrh on the rear sprocket.. RIPPEN Quote
'04limited Posted December 14, 2006 Author Report Posted December 14, 2006 now how much difference will there be in the top end if i go to a 43-44 tooth sprocket in the back? Quote
locogato11283 Posted December 14, 2006 Report Posted December 14, 2006 in all reality i bet you wont notice too much. primary drive rear sprockets are pretty cheap. 15 bucks i think at RMATV. buy a couple and see what you like best. Quote
