OK, I have a GMC somoma 2003, 4 door crew cab 4X4.

I just bought a new head unit. And I am also putting in a 6" Bazooka with amp behind the rear seat (thats all that will fit).

Now all 4 doors can only hold 6-3/4" speakers. I would love to put 6X9" in the rear doors but with the electric window stuff I pretty sure it wont fit.

Any suggestions, or maybe what would be a real good 6-3/4" set of speakers to get?

Thanks

Infiniti components? The kappa's are pretty cool.

i have a 01 2dr s-10 blazer.....

there 6 1/2's in the doors....not 6 3/4

as far as speakers in that area i have Lanzar 6 1/2 2 ways with the moveable center tweeter

for what i paid for them they sound great on my alpine

my blazer differs from your truck in the fact that my rear speakers are 6x9's from the factory..

i have kenwood 4 way 6x9's in there

and im positive youre not gonna get them 6x9's in the doors

like the other guy said if money isnt a big thing then components are the way to go

but if money is an issue like it was for me the Lanzars are a good choice like i said i have them in my doors and in my dash and they sound great

I run all Pioneer speakers. 3 way speakers in the doors and rear pillars, and shallow mount subs. Sounds great, and the $$ is VERY reasonable. Beats the snot out of ALOT of other "stereo shop" built systems. i have been running Pioneer mids and tweets for a long time now, always great sound, and very reliable.

Me personally, I like MB quarts. The infinity components are real nice too, I used to run a set back in the day. I just love the crisp sound that quarts put out, I'll always run them in my vehicles. You can actually get them for a good price on ebay too.

I was thinking about components, But I had components before (years ago) and the tweets killed my ears (too much high), but I really want to have as much bass as possible for the 6-3/4" in the doors. Which I know I wont get a whole lot but, I think Components will give me more than say a 2 or 3 way would.

I will check out the infinity's, I did see them for a descent price at crutchfield (will check for better prices).

Thanks for the advice.

MB Quart's are real nice and can go very loud with a clean amp. The infinity components sound good but I wouldn't run them w/o an amp. For a cheaper set of speakers, I had a set of Polk 6.5" with the tweater mounted/suspended above the cone and they sounded great.

I'm a big fan of MQuartz, but boston acoustic or infiniti make some good ones. As for the tweeters hurting your ears on componants, if you have a decent head unit, you can tune the speakers seperately so you'd be able to lower the volume of the tweeters.

well a good component speaker is infinity and kinck make a ok one also but realy it not who makes it because u can go to walmart and get pioneers but there the lowest grade they make so they can sell em cheap so go to there sites to go look at what they have i have a pick up with 4 componet 2 tweaters and i have 2 12in solo barics and they sound awsome

but if u get a good component speakers u should make sure u get tweaters as well it depends on ur budget 2
