samdust Posted December 1, 2006 Report Posted December 1, 2006 oh god i know yall are gonna love doggin me on this one. but i was looking at a previous post and it was sayin thats most pipes will act as a rev limiter. i was wondering cause when i top mine out i dont know when to let up on the gas i dont hold it long in fear of blowing the top end up. i know u can do that on a dirtbike but is it the same thing on a shee? Quote
Bansh-eman Posted December 1, 2006 Report Posted December 1, 2006 my guess is your motor isnt even close to reving out... most 2 strokes can rev upwards of 14k.... id be willing to bet your getting about 10k maybe... Quote
Satsol67 Posted December 1, 2006 Report Posted December 1, 2006 Hey man dont feel bad I was wondering if you could over rev myself. That is one of the main reasons I havent taken my TORS off yet. I would hate to let someone ride it and they twist it up to high and kill my motor. Quote
Bansh-eman Posted December 1, 2006 Report Posted December 1, 2006 tors isnt going to keep your motor from over reving... the purpose if the tors is to kill the motor when your slide is open and your throttle is closed... Quote

Bansh-eman Posted December 1, 2006 Report Posted December 1, 2006 what your hearing is more then likley your motor reaching its highest rev until it cant pull anymore... not the max rev... Quote

2004LEBanshee Posted December 2, 2006 Report Posted December 2, 2006 You can Keep the throttle pinned all you want as long as 1. There is enough air flow through your rad that keeps it cool and 2. You main Jets are not lean. Really be sure about that second one. Quote
BigRed350x Posted December 2, 2006 Report Posted December 2, 2006 I went screaming around the sand dunes a LOT wide open. For minutes at a time. No damage. Just like the other guy said, be sure your jetting is good or your won't be too happy. Quote
odaen Posted December 2, 2006 Report Posted December 2, 2006 Pinning your throttle for long periods of time rev'd out in the same gear is a good recipe for disaster. I'd bet that more top ends are blown along the flats than anywhere else from my experience doing exactly that thing. Also, keep in mind that your motor will make it's peak torque much sooner in RPM than what your bike will rev to. Quote
