milo_32000 Posted November 27, 2006 Report Posted November 27, 2006 Wanting to install a adjustable timing plate, I see cast and cnc machined ones, are the cheaper cast ones accurate ? I REALLY DON`T want to smoke a motor over this ! Or is it just as good to slot a stock one and use a degree wheel, What I have in mind is +4 , .030 cut on the head, and I already have PC pipes, with 280 mains, no lid on the air box this runs good as is ,this is just a play ride no racer at all unless a 4 stroke wants to play ! Thanks , Milo_32000 Quote
baddsheee Posted November 27, 2006 Report Posted November 27, 2006 I went with the Ricky Stator plate and so have many members here. Pretty good price also. Quote
Animalman294 Posted November 27, 2006 Report Posted November 27, 2006 Yeah, thats what I have and never had a problem, except for the damn pick-up wire rubbin' against the flywheel and almost cutting it in two................. But that was my fault................ Quote
dajogejr Posted November 27, 2006 Report Posted November 27, 2006 MIlo...before you put more timing on it, I'd check your compression first. I'd hate to see you put a timing plate on, do the work...spend the money, and then find out you need to run a mix of pump/race gas.... Just a thought. Quote
