skyline_898 Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006  i was thinking about buying a -2 swingarm and i was wondering if the stock one could be cut and welded back. my grandpa is a welder and has been for like 25 years, so if it can be done he could probably do it. i just dont want to do it if it wil weaken the metal and break. Wallrat Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 It can be done, but its not easy. Look for a post by a member named mat or MrMatt. He did a write-up on how to do it. Quote
CFM Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 It can be done, just make a jig to keep everything straight and make sure to take your material from BEHIND the shock mount Quote
locogato11283 Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 its very simple to do. ive done tons of them with no jig and had no alignment issues. leave your carrier bolted on tight. cut the tabs off back at the cross piece. shorten and reweld. its a piece of cake. i can do one in about an hour.
