banshee freak Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 hey guys, well i bought some jugs off of a guy on ebay for realy cheapt hat have some porting done to them, he told me that i should widen up my tranfer ports on the casing on my engine, now does anyone know how hard this is or if there is an easy fix?? and also, im running stock carbs right now, i was thinking of buying some 28 mm but im not wure what is the best and if i do change carbs , will it be alot harder on fuel?(not that I care) and one more wut kinda pistons are more reliable heres what i got on my 03 shee -fmf rev pipes with toomey t-4 silencers -open air box with K&N -dyna jet kit(290 main) -+4 advance timing -v force 3 reeds -pwr oversize rad -turbo impeller -barnett clutch kit -(the jugs that i bought, havent installed yet) -15 tooth sprocket Quote

I would put a320 main in the stockers, yours has about what mine has, I even drilled my 320 jetts out, it made a diffrence. Quote
dajogejr Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 Two things, you do NOT need to match the cases. it will give you a very, very slight gain if anything, and....it'll lessen your gasket sealing surface. If the motor is all apart...go ahead, place the base gasket on the cases, use a marker and shave the area not covered by the gaskets. However, are you prepared to split the cases and completely dissasemble the motor to get 1-2 HP tops....? Not worth it in itself, IMO. Second, why would you "drill" a 320 main? Mikuni carries jets over 400 series....unless you're running alcohol.... It made a difference because you probably needed a 330 or 340 main....which, is available all day long....???? Quote
