olmick Posted October 14, 2006 Report Posted October 14, 2006 im still trying to outrun the 450s in a straight line, i still cant get them yet, so i was wondering if milling the head and lightening the flywheel will help me out some, im not planning on running race gas so any input here would be appreciated Quote
rocketboy Posted October 15, 2006 Report Posted October 15, 2006 yes ,the lighter flywheel will improve snap and response.... the higher compression will increase torque most noticably in low end and midrange ,faster acceleration and much stronger starts Quote
djackbanshee Posted October 15, 2006 Report Posted October 15, 2006 One word Porting ! i think flywheel lightening + milled head wont be very usefull on a stock engine. You can find alot more power elsewhere than the head and flywheel for now Quote
spike Posted October 15, 2006 Report Posted October 15, 2006 i dont know about a lighter flywheel cause i dont have one but i can definitely recommend gettin your head milled .030" just enough so it gets rid of the square ridge at he bottom of the combustion chamber, for about forty buck its a great investment you will notice a good improvement on trottle response and down low, gain are comparable to a +4 timing advance and again for the price you cannot not do it Quote
olmick Posted October 15, 2006 Author Report Posted October 15, 2006 i think im gonna do the mods then, hey rocketboy whats the usual turn around time on lightening the flywheel Quote
