Dinner Posted August 23, 2006 Report Posted August 23, 2006 I am thinking about getting my cylinders ported this winter sometime, and also getting the crank trued and welded. i am wondering what kind of porting you think i would have fun with the most/use the most. i mostly ride in gravel pits with lots of hill climbing, and run the roads. With a bit of trail riding here and there. My mods are Boyesen reeds, K&N W/O airbox, new stock carbs(without TORS), and soon to have Pro Circuit Pipes and Silencers and i am bored .65 over. Is there a good port(any type) that can give me a good amount of power with stock carbs, or should i get bigger carbs as well? i am thinking about getting either...low-mid, all around, or mid-high. So what does everyone think i would like? Thanks  Dinner Quote
csrmel Posted August 23, 2006 Report Posted August 23, 2006 rb porting seems to do good cheap work. i have looked into them and have not found a single person who isnt satisfied with their work. http://groups.msn.com/RBRacingTwoStrokePorting/porting.msnw Quote
Banshee0028 Posted August 24, 2006 Report Posted August 24, 2006 (edited) I would say a Woods\MX port...Thats what I ordered.... Jeff, at FAST...Just got my cylinders back, and putting it all back together. TOP quality work and great customer service!!! Edited August 24, 2006 by Banshee0028 Quote
locogato11283 Posted August 24, 2006 Report Posted August 24, 2006 id say a dune port would work for you...id go for some all around porting so you dont kill your bottom end and also gain some on top. Quote
platinumjason Posted August 24, 2006 Report Posted August 24, 2006 Id go with the dune port by rbporting. You can get him to do it off ebay for $164 and $25 return shipping. Great price and I even know of a guy on PS that had his drag ported and loved the power from them and he's a nice guy to deal with. Cant go wrong. Quote
[email protected] Posted August 24, 2006 Report Posted August 24, 2006 stock carbs are good for around 60-75 hp . Quote

BigRed350x Posted August 24, 2006 Report Posted August 24, 2006 Chase your Hitt'n the bong toooooooooooo hard His stock bong is making 10-person hooka sized hits. Quote
Justintoxicated Posted August 24, 2006 Report Posted August 24, 2006 (edited) ^^^^^^^^^^ Must be that huge, tripple, high compression, gravity expansion chamber and bored out carb ^^^^^^^^^ Just don't get a full drag port and I think you will be happy. Ask your builder about which carbs and reeds as well. Adding carbs and reeds made a huge difference on my banshee after it was ported. only thing is generaly cylinders are bored after the porting, so you won't have much room for error since your already .65 over! letsgetthisdone Posted August 24, 2006 Report Posted August 24, 2006 ^^^^^ damn thats funny :yelrotflmao: ^^^^^ Quote
csrmel Posted August 24, 2006 Report Posted August 24, 2006 if youre already bored 65 over ( i missed that part) you might not want to have those cylinders ported. their usefull life is starting to get limited. maybe you could get a new sleeve or something put in and then port them. Quote
dajogejr Posted August 24, 2006 Report Posted August 24, 2006 stock carbs are good for around 60-75 hp . Stock carbs will actually pull more than that....on a set of cubs... Quote
Dinner Posted September 3, 2006 Author Report Posted September 3, 2006 I think im going to go for an all around port. I'm just wondering if i get an aggressive all around port(if its possible). How much power can i except to get, will it be a big difference? Cause that is what i want Quote
