on top of my pro designs, there is a port where a cross over tube could be used, but they have plugs covering them. do you guys think it would be wize to remove the plugs and add a cross over???

Like I said before, shee runs great now, but im open to any options and opinions.

No, leave them alone

You're correct. At a certain part of the RPM (depending on the motor and reeds) the draft in the carbs'll be reversed temporarily because the reeds dont shut in time. The crossover tube was designed to store the charge so it wouldn't be pushed back into the carbs (creating a rich condition.) The problem with boost bottles is that they were marketed as a universal magical trinket that would make you go super fast. If properly designed for your configuration, they can help quite a bit.

I wouldn't think the reeds would EVER close as long as the engine is running. Wouldn't the air/fuel mix be traveling into the cylinders all the time anyway, just more so on the down stroke? The plugs also fire at BDC as well as TDC, wouldn't that clear the cylinder of any fuel anyway....there wouldn't be anything left to travel backwards into the carbs. Just my theory.

My intakes have the cross-over tube built in. You kinda need some sort of crossover tube if you get real technical into the operation of a twin cylinder two stroke, but they will run good with or without one.

what kind of intakes are those?
