bodge Posted June 7, 2006 Report Posted June 7, 2006 hi just washed my shee, i covered the air intake with tape to stop water from going in the air box. whent to start it but forgot to remove the tape, any way it would not run , removed the tape but still will not start. what is the best way to check for a spark? Or how do i test what is coming out of the stator? Quote
Animalman294 Posted June 7, 2006 Report Posted June 7, 2006 Take the plug out of the head, put the plug back into the plug boot and touch the grounding strip on the case, head, cylender's or even the pipes. You then kick over the kicker with either your foot or your hand and you should see a spark go across the gap. The stator would need a multi-tester and a spec sheet to see what reading it is supposed to have........... Quote
r/atvshee Posted June 7, 2006 Report Posted June 7, 2006 well when i was my shee it always seems hard to start after...but it usually takes about 5mins to start after......it would be that some water got into the carbs so way Quote
bodge Posted June 7, 2006 Author Report Posted June 7, 2006 done that and there is no spark. i did hit it hard but only with a hose pipe and not a power wash. Quote
FasterThanU90 Posted June 7, 2006 Report Posted June 7, 2006 your slides got wet.. every time i wash my bike i take my slides out afterwards and dry the layer of water off them and just wipe the carb a little and it fires right up no matter how hard i try water always gets in ther Quote
r/atvshee Posted June 7, 2006 Report Posted June 7, 2006 looks like i will wipe slides next time...because i check the carb everyonce in a while after washing and find water on the slides Quote
