Yaxy Posted May 17, 2006 Report Posted May 17, 2006 If you have a stock shee, 200 should be fine. What is the ratio of Gas to Oil are you using? Also when you say wet, is this at several throttle positions or a idle? A little rich will not hurt. Chris Quote
chronicwatson Posted May 17, 2006 Author Report Posted May 17, 2006 32-1 and it has a very bad bog threw the first 3 gears until you hit the power band Quote
Master of Faster Posted May 17, 2006 Report Posted May 17, 2006 Make sure to take the snorkel off the airbox lid, run your gas at 40:1, and switch to a K&N filter and the 200 mains will be perfect. I always thought the stock jetting was a little rich too, but you really shouldn't be having problems, it may be wise to do a compression test also. Quote
sheefreak Posted May 17, 2006 Report Posted May 17, 2006 If it is too rich, it is too rich. Yamaha doesn't put out stock machines that are on the cutting edge of rich/lean for a reason! I would agree w/getting rid of the snorkel, may put you right where you want it. And get yourself a prodesign adapter plate and K+N or other aftermarket "clampable filter" as mentioned before. The stock setup is at best inadequate for filtering dirt. Quote
chronicwatson Posted May 17, 2006 Author Report Posted May 17, 2006 the plugs are a very dark black and removing the snorkel would not flow that much more air to get my in the tan brown range. Quote
Master of Faster Posted May 17, 2006 Report Posted May 17, 2006 You know that how? Have you tried it? Just removing the snorkel from a stock Banshee makes it run noticeably better, enough that you can feel the difference, and enough to have an effect on your jetting. Quote
ojcool Posted May 17, 2006 Report Posted May 17, 2006 32-1 and it has a very bad bog threw the first 3 gears until you hit the power band 517139[/snapback] That means you need to drop the needles one step. Quote
Master of Faster Posted May 17, 2006 Report Posted May 17, 2006 Its all stock, no reason to screw with the needles as long as they are in their stock position. Quote
chronicwatson Posted May 17, 2006 Author Report Posted May 17, 2006 well i put it back together with the snorkel removed and your right it made a big difference i just thought it wouldn't do that much. chronic Quote
