racer Posted May 14, 2006 Report Posted May 14, 2006 to go back to the original topic....look into a throttle cam system. it has an eccentric throttle tube instead of a round one (on the part where the cable connects only), and its adjustable. the odd shape means for the first say 1/3 throttle it will come on slow/smooth, and rump up from there. that way when you want it its there, but for learning its easy. or just teach her to feather the clutch. thats how i was taught. just by keeping the rpm steady and using the clutch. FasterThanU90 Posted May 14, 2006 Report Posted May 14, 2006 yah id teach her with the twist a dirtbike isnt a dirtbike without one but thats just me. Or just sell the dirtbike and get a quad once she hits sand with that moto its a whole diff. world also, takes alot of practice and wipeouts whether soft or hard to get comfortable and ride a dirtbike Quote

Mullet Man Posted May 15, 2006 Author Report Posted May 15, 2006 thats pretty cool but pricey for the universal system....have to think about that option. i do like the idea behind it tho! Quote
mnduner Posted May 16, 2006 Report Posted May 16, 2006 preferance is all. i like twist on bikes (only way ive ridden them) thumb on quad(only way ive ridden them) id say that a twist is easier to controll than a thumb because you have your whole arm to controll it ranther than one tiny finger. plus stock is cheaper i learned to ride on an 85cr80 that was burning case oil. talk about lag..... idle idle idle idle idle idle redline. what a fun way to learn how hard trees really are im about to try and get my girlly riding. have fun Quote
EastCoast Banshee Posted May 16, 2006 Report Posted May 16, 2006 id deff. stick with twist man only way to ride dirtbikes imo. As for those small 2-stroke motors they are nasty little beasts gotta watch yourself. If you wanna get thrown backwards get on a KTM 65 they are sick for suck a small bike. =) Quote
