PUSH THE THROTTLE Posted April 21, 2006 Report Posted April 21, 2006 Only thing we can do now is hope good ole GW gets capped real soon. 505257 How is that going to help gas prices? Quote
fastbanshee8 Posted April 21, 2006 Report Posted April 21, 2006 You can blame the F-in tree huggin' enviromentalists, for the gas prices being as high as they are. With all their rules and regs, it costs the oil companies major bucks to refine the crude, without breaking any of the rules. None of the oil companies will build any new refineries, because all the new rules make building, cost prohibitive. Bottom line, we don't have enough refineries to keep up with demand. I have a family member, that works for British Petroleum, and he is rather high up in the company. He told us about all this shit! Quote
Kayleigh Posted April 21, 2006 Report Posted April 21, 2006 you americans moan about gas prices too much. over here for a litre of petrol, its nearly $1.72. yes... i did just say a litre. 505135 move ur ass to the effing states and solve all ur problems.....its better here anyway kidding...scotland rules...u guys wear kilts. tithead Posted April 21, 2006 Report Posted April 21, 2006 Tit, I was trying to calculate your gas prices into american terms. So you'd have to use our f'd up gallons to do that. 505386 how many litres are in a galon for you guys? if i find out ill work out the price of the same amount of gas but over here. Quote

All the crude in the world does us no good if we can't refine enough of it. Thanks hippies. If I could afford to build and fuel a monster truck like the one in that movie Rolling Thunder I'd go hippy hunting. Quote
Shee-Male Posted April 22, 2006 Report Posted April 22, 2006 To answer your question Speedie.....no, we can't make a differance. There is approximatley 4 liters in a gallon. Quote
Hilarious Posted April 22, 2006 Report Posted April 22, 2006 (edited) By way of Katrina, we already showed the gas companies that we will pay outrageous prices for gas. 505257 Working folk need to go to work to pay bills and live. Working folk need gas to go to work. Wtf are we supposed to do, boycott every gas station and not go to work? Not be able to pay bills? Have you thought about what would happen if everybody just stopped working? That shit is easier said than done. Edited April 22, 2006 by Hilarious Quote
Wallrat Posted April 22, 2006 Report Posted April 22, 2006 Get a motorcycle for commuting. In a perfect world if everybody started riding motorcycles and getting 50+mpg that would lower demand, which in turn SHOULD lower prices. But then I don't see the oil companies lowering prices in an attempt to get people driving again. So really all you can hope for is to have a sweet ride that gets 50mpg. I'd do it cept for 2 reasons: 1. Riding a bike in California is suicide. 2. My carpool buddy (6'4", 210 lbs) and me (6', 210lbs) would look gay as hell. Quote
