Capone Posted April 19, 2006 Report Posted April 19, 2006 Here is a pic of the crank, exactly how I put it in. The person who dropped the crank in said the original crank's bearings are crushed inbetween the cases to hold them... the new ones aren't. Did I miss something when I had him install? I search and found something about o-rings? Thanks in advance. Quote
dajogejr Posted April 19, 2006 Report Posted April 19, 2006 Your stock crank had "nubs" on the outside of the bearings, that sat in corresponding grooves in the cases. Your new crank has o rings which hold them in place, not allowing the bearings to spin in the cases... I just bought a hot rod crank and asked the same question to be sure...no worries... Quote
Capone Posted April 22, 2006 Author Report Posted April 22, 2006 Also, when installing the degree key out of the old crank into the hotrods one, should I use anything to hold it or just tap it in? Quote
lowriderb Posted April 23, 2006 Report Posted April 23, 2006 the crank only will have those o rings on it.. the woodruff key should fit just like stock did.. Quote
