bodge Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 Hi i get my new 06 banshee this weekend. I think this is a great site and loads of info to hand. the mods up to now are ... alien pipes carbs re jetted for the above do i need to put some miles on it/run it in before i do any more mods? i have some v-force 3 reeds coming a ricky stator with adjustable timing plate and flywheel and a procom cdi box Can you advise me about setting the timing up? should i set the plate to 4+ like every one says in my search results? If i do can i then fit the new cdi box? or am i doing the wrong thing fitting both the timing plate and the cdi box? i also know now from my search's that i should check the plugs to see if im running rich/lean with the new reeds in. DIRTMAN350 Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 you should be fine with +4 on the timing plate. Quote
bodge Posted April 19, 2006 Author Report Posted April 19, 2006 you should be fine with +4 on the timing plate. 504142 and the procom cdi box? Quote
dajogejr Posted April 19, 2006 Report Posted April 19, 2006 You need to see if the CDI advances the timing, too... I'd hate to see you advance the plate 4 degrees...and have the CDI do the same thing...you could be headed for trouble. Also...if you didn't already order the Ricky Stator Flywheel, it's probably cheaper to get yours lightened...Boonman will lighten yours for 65 bucks, and he eats return shipping for HQ members. Quote

dajogejr Posted April 19, 2006 Report Posted April 19, 2006 Yep...understood. Lightened flywheel and the timing advance are two great, cheap mods for response and power...I loved mine!! Quote

bodge Posted April 19, 2006 Author Report Posted April 19, 2006 i just found in a search that the ricky flywheel is not lightened, Im going to do a dc conversion with the ricky stator so is it a waist of time fitting a ricky flywheel? should i just use my stock flywheel? Quote
bodge Posted April 19, 2006 Author Report Posted April 19, 2006 Whaddya mean DC conversion? 504599 convert it from ac volts to dc volts like this. http://www.dunereview.com/electricalupgrade-1.htm Quote
dajogejr Posted April 19, 2006 Report Posted April 19, 2006 Very good question....not sure. I've read up a bit on high output stators...but not a DC conversion. I'm not up for riding at night, anyways...shit comes up real, real fast with no light... I'd get a straight answer from RS himself...they're good people to deal with! Quote
