chris642 Posted April 16, 2006 Report Posted April 16, 2006 Yo, this damn project banshee is driving me INSANE!! okay here is the problem, its so damn hard to start. Sometimes it fires for a second, but recently it has been starting every so often, like 10 kicks. It was at the point where i could only pull start it, but its better now. OK, here is what i have checked. Put on carbs off my main banshee(28mm PWK) Put on reeds off my bike Synced carbs got new head(old one was milled making 170 PSI)- comp. is now 135-perfect!! Replaced ignition coil from my bike, did nothing so i put old one back on I dont know where else to check, this thing runs excellent. The spark plugs look good, i was putting around on it today. It idles beautifully and all runs great except for one thing, decelleration. it seems rough on deceleration, my banshee is smooth coming to a stop from full throttle(errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr) this one sounds like(errrrrrrr*ding*rrrrrrrrrrrr*ding**ding*rrrrrrr). I am not sure what is causing this, it seems to be jetted good, when i pull the choke it want to die and runs bad. I have a 140 main, 50 pilot, 1 1/4 on the air scres, im pretty sure the clip is one down from the middle. My banshee(ported and T5's) runs 155 main and a 52 pilot, the prokect bike only has FMF's so i think it isnt running lean or anything. Please, give me suggestions and things to try. Could it be the CDI? what else is there that would cause this! My main concern is the starting, it should fire right up!! Quote
bansheeseat$$ Posted April 16, 2006 Report Posted April 16, 2006 One of my freinds banshees had a simular problem,Very hard to start and sometimes would'nt start at all.I believe it was a chafed wire in the harness that would contact ground every so often. My .02 cents. Quote

I wouldnt be suprised if the wires are trashd. Thing that sucks is that i cannot just swap it off my banshee because its an 03, the project one is a 00. Everyone else, give me more stuff to check!! bansheeseat$$ Posted April 16, 2006 Report Posted April 16, 2006 (edited) You should be able to swap your harness,I believe that they are the same from 97-2006.You just can't hook up the brake light wires. Edited April 16, 2006 by bansheeseat$$ Quote
