hotrodbanshee Posted April 12, 2006 Report Posted April 12, 2006 Are there premix oils out there that run cleaner than others? I get a lot of carbon buildup on my exhaust pipes. Also my plugs get pretty black. i am running castor 927. I know my jetting is not rich. I have one bottle left and was thinking about switching to something else. Are there any other oils that will burn cleaner? Quote
gregbowler Posted April 13, 2006 Report Posted April 13, 2006 I use Motul 800 @ 40:1 seems to work good Quote
knight_ripper Posted April 13, 2006 Report Posted April 13, 2006 I use Bel-Ray everything. Have for 10 years without fail. Good stuff. pre-mix tranny oil brake fluid Quote
Wicked98Shee Posted April 13, 2006 Report Posted April 13, 2006 the cleanest motor ive ever took apart ran honda hp2 @ 40:1 ... i run klotz in my shee's but, castor927, golden spectro, belray,amsoil,klotz,hp2 are all exellent premix. change ur plugs and go chop it... see where ur at cause if theyre burnin' black chance's are ur fat. i've jetted a bunch of bikes runnin 927 and they burn fine, a nice perdy tan color. cdwood37 Posted April 16, 2006 Report Posted April 16, 2006 The thing with castor oil is that it is made from the castor bean and is not petroleum based, it will lube a motor better but it will also gum them up much faster. Castor oils are used primarily on motors that are torn down every 40 or so hours, or race engines. just my two cents i ran motul 800 for three years and now run bel-ray. Quote
fastbanshee8 Posted April 16, 2006 Report Posted April 16, 2006 You will get more carbon build up, from castor based oils. It's just the nature of the beast. Quote
hotrodbanshee Posted April 17, 2006 Author Report Posted April 17, 2006 I think I might switch to petro based oil. Quote
DIRTMAN350 Posted April 17, 2006 Report Posted April 17, 2006 KLOTZ SuperTechniplate 503552[/snapback] That's exactly what i use. Hve had good luck. Once you switch i would stick with it. Just my $.02. Quote
