kawiking Posted March 17, 2006 Report Posted March 17, 2006 how much power till you need to reenforce your crank or go hot rod? Quote
racer Posted March 17, 2006 Report Posted March 17, 2006 thats a difficult issue to assess, but not really. have it welded as soon as you can. dont destroy your fresh topend, but next time its down for some good sized maintenance have it done. with a true'd/welded crank one can get very very decent HP number before the need for a high perf crank is there. J12480 Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 My suggestion... if your crank is older than two seasons replace it. The older the crank the harder it is to balance when you have it welded. If you do any head mods Id say up 21cc domes you can run a stock crank. Anything smaller than 21cc domes... beef up the crank. I bought a new hot rod crank and had it welded/true'd. I run 20cc's on 104 octane fuel. My advice replace the crank and be done with it Quote
trex banshee Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 i might have just had good luck with mine but i ran a stock yamaha crank that was welded and trued for three years with the trex and before that it was ran on the stock cylinders by the other owner. Quote
