My shifter shaft can slide back and forth just enough to cause mis-shifts(sometimes won't shift at all) If I pull the shifter away from the bike, it catches enough on the shift star to change gears. My question is, what holds the shifter shaft/mechanism that contacts the Shift Star against the shift star? It looks like the cover has a dowel that does this but for some reason it is not working... Is there a way to adjust this? My banshee manual was jacked(thanks corey if your reading) so I don't have anything to go by.

I'd really like to hit the track today!

Thanks Guys!

It looks like the aluminum dowel on the clutch cover is worn down. Anyone experienced this? Ideas for quick fixes welcome! I'm sure there is an abundance of those covers since people tend to replace em with the shiny ones. See the WTB section if you have one!

this is a common banshee problem. Just put some spacers between the shifter and case/ stator cover so it doesnt move. I used a legth of pvc pipe with washers on either end

ok all banshees have sketchy shifting the only way to fix that problem that is inexpensive is to get a new shift cam. yakkey has one for like 120 bucks. the other way to go is to get new gears. rdzracing has straight cut gears for close to 400 bucks. it may not solve ur problem but it will help in performance.
