HEY YALL I NEED SOME HELP! I BOUGHT MY 1ST BANSHEE A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO AND IT WAS NOT RUNNING.... THE STATOR WAS BAD CAUSING IT NOT TO FIRE. BUT I TOOK THE ENGINE APART TO PUT IN SOME NEW SEALS ...RINGS..GASKETS...ETC. AND OF COURSE TO SEE WHAT IT HAD INSIDE,LOL IT IS .040 OVER WITH WISECO PRO LITES ...IT HAS A AFTERMARKET SET OF REEDS LOOKS LIKE MAYBE SOME BOYESEN POWER REEDS . A WHITE BROTHER BOOST BOTTLE....A PRO DESIGN COOL HEAD WITH 22CC DOMES....AND A SET OF PRO CIRCUIT PLATINUM PIPES AND 304 SILENCERS. SO WHEN I GET TO THE CARBS THE TORS HAVE BEEN TOOK OFF AND IT HAS A TWIST THROTTLE...BUT THE MAIN JETS ARE SIZE 180 AND I THOUGHT THAT SEEMED REALLY TOO SMALL FOR ALL THE MODS. AND WHEN I REASSEMBLED IT I DIDNT WANNA RUIN THE ENGINE WHEN IT CRANKED. I NOTICED A FEW PEOPLE HERE TALKING ABOUT 280'S AND 300 MAINS....ANYONE HAVE MY SETUP AND WHATS A CLOSE SIZE JET TO START WITH. THE AIRBOX LID HAS ALSO BEEN REMOVED AND IT JUST HAS A NEW UNI AIR FILTER ON IT. AND DOES THE AIRBOX LID NEED TO BE USED BACK?AND ALSO I BOUGHT A NEW RICKY STATOR WITH ADJUSTABLE ADVANCE..WHATS IT NEED TO BE SET ON TO WORK RIGHT WITH THE JETS AND MY OTHER MODS? AND IM NOT SURE OF THE SEA LEVEL HERE..IM IN NORTHEAST,GEORGIA NEAR ATLANTA AS I KNOW IT MAKES A DIFFERENCE IN JETTING. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME OUT WITH SOME OF MY QUESTIONS! THANKS A BUNCH.

START OUT WITH SOME 300 MAIN JETS. ALSO DO SOME SEARCHS AROUND. ESPECIALLY IN THE JETTING AND EXHAUST FORUM. AND WHEN YOUR DONE DOING THAT AND YOU WANT TO POST AGAIN TAKE YOUR CAPS LOCK OFF.

I think you should at least start out with 300's.I don't think the engine will last long with the small jets you mentioned that it had.WAY TOO lean. You might be able to try a 320 or 330.Leave the lid off unless you ride through alot of water.Does the air filter have the plate that bolts to the air box?If not, then you'll have to use the lid.The lid actually holds it in place.Prodesign makes a kit that has the aluminum plate that bolts up to the air box.I'd at least get that.Might be able to find one cheap on here in the classifieds or on ebay.I prefer the K&N filters that clamp directly onto the carbs. The timing plate is adjustable.I'd put it on +4.That should be plenty.Once you put it on,you line the mark that you want it on(+4) with where the two case halfs meet.

You can go on the internet and do a search for the town you live in's elevation.

I think that should tell ya your elevation.PM me if I can answer anymore questions.

Make sure those are STOCK carbs on that bike...

Even the dealer never put 180 mains in the stock carbs...unless you live or bought it at 4000 or 5000 feet. Stocks were 200 or optional 210...

With those mods...I'd be surprised if it even ran past half throttle with the choke on...:)

If they are stock carbs, and you plan on keeping your airbox with the lid off...as said above. I'd get a set of 300 to 340 mains, and you'll end up fine.
