sand4ever Posted January 13, 2006 Report Posted January 13, 2006 (edited) ok so I just put this motor together and wanted to try it out. it seems to run on both cylinders when cold , as it warms up the right side seems to cut out. i pulled my stator cover off and looked at the gap between the stator and point. Were talking almost a eighth inch. So I looked back at the instructions for the stator and it says gap .010 to .015. I have no more adjustment left. And looking at the stator plate the holes for the point are not square to the flywheel. So will this affect the ignition and cause this to run poorly , especially when warm or hot I have adjusted the carbs in sync. All connections are good. plugs are clean, but of course the right side is wet from not firing. This is a simple motor stock bore w/ weisco pro-lights, +3 degrees timing, modquad cool head, t-5 toomeys, 320 main jets, medium porting, 110 race fuel, and so on. What could be the problem or could it be the timing plate? And yes I mispelled stator!!!! Edited January 14, 2006 by sand4ever Quote
sand4ever Posted January 14, 2006 Author Report Posted January 14, 2006 any ideas to what the prob is. I'm going to take the carbs apart tomorrow and check the reeds. But could it be the stator that is giving me problems? Any takers Quote
