Ok, i got my bike adjusted to be able to take off in second gear now. I needed to open up the air screw to get more torque out of it. Now my question is, how do i get more traction at the take off or even during the race? The guys I race tell me theres a trick to taking off and keeping the good traction, is there? My bike is extended 10 inches, should i keep my weight on the back tires or all the way to the front? Also, how do i know when my tires are getting too much spin?

Good question!

I'm quite keen to see the answers as well.

Dragged a bit this week end, it was good fun, but I'm still running stock tyres, so there's hardly any grip.

what kinda motor do u have to warrant a +10 swinger? what kinda tires? a bone stock motor with stock pipes should be able to turn tires in 2nd gear with a 10 over swinger on..

first off the +10 is probally to much.how much you weigh? i weigh 175 pds run a +4 .your weight is probally the biggest factor when choosing swingarm length.when i launch i set back on the seat bring it up on the wheelie bar and keep it there till it drops unless it gets a little to wild.lol.when i ran without a bar i ran a stock arm and would set almost on tank to let it spin and when it started spinning i would slide my weight back till i got the traction i needed.takes practice.

I agree that the +10 is probably too much swingarm.Tire selection is also extremely important too. What type of tracks are you racing on?
