jrod469 Posted October 20, 2005 Report Posted October 20, 2005 I am currently running a Paul Turner Powerhead with 22cc domes. I am .60over with a boost bottle. I just bought a new set of 19cc domes and was told that I could still run premium gas, but 19cc was the cutoff the dude on ebay told me. I am running about 165lbs compression right now with the 22cc's. Any advice? I just rebuilt the motor and have about 6hrs on it. Runs great, just always looking for a little more, know what I mean? badassbanshee479 Posted October 20, 2005 Report Posted October 20, 2005 I had to run race fuel when I had 19cc domes in my bike Quote
sheefreak Posted October 20, 2005 Report Posted October 20, 2005 If you are running w/165 compression now, you will definately need to run race fuel. Quote
Ducman Posted October 20, 2005 Report Posted October 20, 2005 165psi sound really high for 22 cc domes at 0' elev. should be more like 130psi. Anyway, 19cc domes would typically require at least a 50/50 mix of 110 octane and 91octane pump fuel at a minimum. Quote
dawarriorman Posted October 20, 2005 Report Posted October 20, 2005 (edited) Somethings not right, 21s should only get you to 156 at sea level, so 22s would be less than that. But either way, you would need at least 50/50 with 19s. Edited October 20, 2005 by dawarriorman Quote

locogato11283 Posted October 20, 2005 Report Posted October 20, 2005 u need to be runnin 50/50 mix to be safe.. Quote
jrod469 Posted October 20, 2005 Author Report Posted October 20, 2005 I haven't put them in yet, maybe I won't after reading your posts. I don't really want to run into problems. There is a station close to me that sells "Cam 2" I think that is 107oct. When I check my compression, I kept one plug in, with the compression testor in the empty cyl, and kicked until the testor maxed out(about 8-10kicks). The way the dude on ebay talked, I could just run 93oct and increase my midrange power substantially. Quote
dawarriorman Posted October 20, 2005 Report Posted October 20, 2005 What is the stock size domes in the stock head 428035[/snapback] 23cc jrod -- Sometimes compression testers, more often cheaper ones, will just read off. Just check a few times and make sure it keeps getting the same reading (so you know its at least consistantly off). If its not consistant, then you might want to get a new one. Quote
locogato11283 Posted October 20, 2005 Report Posted October 20, 2005 ask the guy if hes willing to rebuild your topend if you run the 19cc domes with 93 octane..i bet he will change his tune then...tell him you want it in writing that he guarantees it to be safe... Quote
