ported reed cages?!?

I was searching around when I came across a discussion about ported reed cages.

There were a few links showing how it is done one. 1 was this a mill, the other wasn't very good. anyway I know this is highly debatable between you all but does it really work? and would it even be woth finding and old set of cages to do this to? if no gains are made and I wouldnt feel anything then it's not worth my time .........any info?

I ported my stock cages and put some tdr reeds on them and I could feel the differance, my friends bike was set up the same as mine except for the cages being ported and I usualy pulled between half to one full bike length on him!!

if you don't have the money for vf2's or 3's why not port your stock ones it is a free mod that makes a differance. I just bougt some vf2's and have not been able to try them yet but when I go dyno my engine I am going to take both sets odf cages and see which ones make more power.
