bansheefreestyler Posted August 21, 2005 Report Posted August 21, 2005 hey guys. i took my shee out for a little rip today and when i got back and shut it off i noticed that it was kind of hissing or sounded like something was buring inside my rad. I have no clue what to think of this. can any of you guys help me out? thanks BFS Quote
trail rider Posted August 21, 2005 Report Posted August 21, 2005 thats ur coolant bubbling like in a car after it gets hot Quote
dlnoss Posted August 21, 2005 Report Posted August 21, 2005 Mine did that every time I rode it until I put an aftermarket head on it...It was a Noss Head by the way.... If it's as hot where you are as it has been lately in Oklahoma, it's not that unusual. Check the coolant level, radiator cap, and make sure the coolant is flowing well. Jetting can also cause it to run hot but it's usually fatter in the summer. Quote
bansheefreestyler Posted August 21, 2005 Author Report Posted August 21, 2005 so all it's doing is bubbling? i shouldnt worry about it? also it leaks antifreeze alot? whats up with that? thanks BFS Quote
dlnoss Posted August 21, 2005 Report Posted August 21, 2005 That was the original reason for the Cool Head years ago. Using Engine Ice would probably help. I'd check the other stuff just to make sure you don't have a problem. Quote
bansheefreestyler Posted August 21, 2005 Author Report Posted August 21, 2005 alright. thanks a million for the help Quote
odaen Posted August 21, 2005 Report Posted August 21, 2005 a blown head gasket or o-ring if you are running a cool head can also do this. compression leaks from your domes into the coolant system and pressurizes it dumping coolant out the overflow. not saying that's what's wrong, but it can happen Quote
bansheefreestyler Posted August 21, 2005 Author Report Posted August 21, 2005 i have a stock head and i just changed all the gaskets cause i just did my top end Quote
Banshee~ Posted August 21, 2005 Report Posted August 21, 2005 Cough up $250 for a noss machine head, trust me. Mine ran hot with just pipes, so I added a noss head and engine ice and it runs cooler than a stock banshee would. With the 21cc domes I noticed better bottem end, plus you wont overheat and that not good for your engine if it does. Quote
bansheefreestyler Posted August 22, 2005 Author Report Posted August 22, 2005 all the money that i just had went into hipers all round. so no noss head for me Quote
lincster Posted August 22, 2005 Report Posted August 22, 2005 If you just did the rebuild and you are just having problems, something went wrong with putting the bike back together. Quote

I was thinking of a works connection clutch lever and such but the noss head will be better for the engine Quote
