trex banshee Posted August 2, 2005 Report Posted August 2, 2005 if everything is bone stock i would go with some t-5s but if he has anything done internally i would have to say rockets for top end drag racing. Quote
stclark816 Posted August 2, 2005 Report Posted August 2, 2005 I say go with the T-5's for some dragging and trails. I ran T-5's in the woods for a long time. I really liked them. I run rockets now, but if I had to go to a different pipe, it would be Toomeys. Quote
KASRacing Posted August 3, 2005 Report Posted August 3, 2005 T5s will be great, but if he is going to be modifying his bike later on ill suggest to go with some shearer, if u decide let me know i got some t5s in my garage and got 2 sets of brand new shearers pm me and we can work something out, and give u a bad ass deal. KASRacing 400315 i dont know about shearers in the trails, real peaky and lightswitch powerband, wouldn't be too much fun. t5's should do. might want to get your head milled .25 and advance the timing +4 also for better low end with the t5's Quote

3TV Posted August 4, 2005 Report Posted August 4, 2005 Why is everyone recommending the T-5s when Toomey's web site is touting the T-6 as having five more horsepower than their T-5, while having just as much low end? Why not recommend the T-6? 3TV Quote

Why not recommend the T-6? 3TV 401009 Becuase the T-6 was built for the stock banshee motor. They DO NOT react well to porting. T-6 pipe is for the person who wont ever decided to port their motor. And you might say you wont port now, but eventually I bet you will. And then, youll have to get new pipes if you got the T-6's. Go with the t5's- ya cant miss!!! Quote
hellride96 Posted August 5, 2005 Report Posted August 5, 2005 to each his own...............im runnin t-6's with a ported and polished 400cc big bore cheetha kit from trinty....35mm kehin, ive got my carbs tuned in perfectly with my pipes and have no problem at ALL drag racing or trail riding. i had t-5 before the 6's, and 5's are a better all around pipe but the 6's are good from mid to top. but still a good pipe. good luck choosing Quote
race-a-holic Posted August 6, 2005 Report Posted August 6, 2005 I had the T-6's with stock ports, dyna ignition,K&N filters, and a trinity head.I was not impressed at all with the T-6.They said it was probably the head causing problems with the pipes. It run better when I switched to the T-5's. Quote
wongs390cc Posted August 6, 2005 Report Posted August 6, 2005 Hey I have a question about CPIs vs. Shearers. Out of the two, which one do you guys would recommend? And also, my friends had CPI inframes, I know they had to put different size jets, run more air, and move the needle down 2 notches. My question is, if I decided to get Shearers, would I be doing the same as if I got CPIs? Thanks.. Quote
