bansheefreestyler Posted July 6, 2005 Report Posted July 6, 2005 do you check the bore with a vernier? Quote
Shee-Male Posted July 6, 2005 Report Posted July 6, 2005 Check your piston skirt dia. just below the pin with a micrometer, if you don't have one and don't care to invest in one then go to a local machine shop and have them measure it, then have them check your cyl. @ the top mid. and bottom with a bore guage to see if there is any taper. A vernier won't tell you anything since it will only read the top of the bore that dose'nt see any piston ring wear but insted collect carbon. If your useing a forged piston 3-4(max) thou. is ok, remember a forged piston will be undersize at room temperature so ifyour around 3 that would be perfect, but I would have a local shop check it, I dought they'd charge you anything, I don't for a lookie-boo! chapmanmd Posted July 7, 2005 Author Report Posted July 7, 2005 Alright, enough is enough... I'm sending a stock set of cylinders to Jim at Passion this weekend for a HOT MX port, bore, and new pistons. Screw it... I run the piss out of my Banshees, so I would just as soon be more confident in my motor. The era ends now. After many years of Trinity race cylinders, Im headed to a new guy. Kind of like divorcing a needy wife. Thanks for some good years Trinity and I hope for some good years with Passion. Quote
