Got pipes and k&n with lid off and w/ 310 mains and 1 up on pilot....stock clip slot too........ well the problem was it would idle fine and wide open great too, hit powerband great, but when just cruising, then hit it, it would sputter, then a back fire out of one cylinder, then open up into powerband.......... and if i am under a load, like a hill climb, it seems ok..........just a mid throttle, then hit it, it kinda does the sputter thang......... not a big problem , but wanna find out why and fix it? to rich, or to lean? thoughts?? oh, and it seems a little hard to start when cold.......dont know if this is related if warm, first kick............cold maybe 8-10 kicks Quote

sredish Posted June 30, 2005 Report Posted June 30, 2005 most likely your needle. try richening your needle to the 4th or even 5th spot and see what happens, should get better. backfires typically signify a lean condition. Quote
