first off, let me introduce myself, im 17 been riding since i was little cant realy rember when,(around 8-9) was lucky but not so smart to have a banshee as the first quad i ever rode, yes i did almost kill myself and yes the guy was a idiot, lets just say after 5 min not only was i hooked on riding but i was also at the bottom of a 10 foot deep drainage ditch, from there i mostly rode the banshee, old honda 250r,and from time to time a freinds quad. my familly also rides my mother and her boyfreind both ride praire 650's as well as a street and trail bike(klr250) as of april im riding a 05 kfx400, thought i wanted a better trail bike, but now im realy missing the banshee, just nothing quite like it(thou can say i dont miss the maintince, thou it was worth it) my main riding buddys ride a z400, raptor 660, ozark250(has a bit of a hard time keeping up) and a kfx700,

anyways, i know unfortunally that 06 is the final year to the amazing run of the banshee, but i've heard alot of rumors to what will be taking its place, pretty much what im wondering is should i cash in the kfx now, and pick up a 06 banshee, or would i be better off waiting to see what they are going to come out with, i've heard rumors that there will be a banshee 2 but it will be a stroke? i figured you guys might have some better answers for me.

Welcome to the BHQ. :cheers: .... Great introduction!

Unfortunately, you've fallen into a 'hot topic' that keeps rearing it's head. ... I haven't really been following it, but you can use the 'search' button. There's also info above that's been "pinned".

First I've heard about a Mark 2 Banshee. ... Can't see it happening myself.

I could really go an '06 right now. :lol:

Long live the Banshee!

i did do a search, but all i got was post about this beign the last year of the banshee, nothing about a replacement.

brings up another question thou, i know for a fact theres guys on here that rebuilt banshee's, what does something like that cost, not includding all the special stuff for them?

I dont think anything will ever replace the banshee to tell you the truth. cant beat that arm ripping grab on powerband. a 4 stroke could never do that, they are torquey and ride real smooth. the next dominating quad I would say is the yfz450.

how can you really replace the banshee? with a 4 stroke? get real, not happening. it will never be replaced. fortunately for all fo us the aftermarket side is growing by the minute. you can pick up a 2000 - 2003 banshee for next to nothing. keep your kfx and when the time is right jump on a used banshee. mod the hell out of it and youll have the best of both worlds. no sense in buying a brand new one when all youll do is get rid of the stock junk anyway and replace with aftermarket.

Most of us do all our own work. ... I think.

Depending what you're rebuilding ... from zero to thousands.

Hey guys, I wouldnt worry much

Yamaha has been saying they would stop building banshees sinse 1999- and there crankin em' out.

But if it is time of the banshee to see its end. so be it. I got mine, and its f**king fast, and im sure you all have one that will rally any four stroke! Am I right

So I say let em' try to replace it. I just dont see it happinin!

LONG LIVE THE BANSHEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :notworthy::notworthy:
