williamjernigan Posted June 28, 2005 Report Posted June 28, 2005 I was riding with these guys sunday and one of them happend to have a track he made with a 3ft high jump on it. Anyways I got nerve to hit it and I jumped about 30 feet and 5-6 ft in the air and it felt good. The landing didn't feel hard but when I stoped they said everytime my bike landed it sounded like it was hitting really hard. They said it was like "thump". Could this be my stock shocks bottoming out. Anyways need advice as to what setup would be good for a fast trail bike but with the mx capabilites. I will get videos of the track and us hitting the jump next time I have off work. Quote
wesw Posted June 28, 2005 Report Posted June 28, 2005 the stock shocks really cant handle to much of an aggresive jump so it was probably them bottoming out Quote
williamjernigan Posted June 28, 2005 Author Report Posted June 28, 2005 what abou the rear shock getting revalved. Would that be a good start. Quote
Banshee17Racing Posted June 28, 2005 Report Posted June 28, 2005 A lot of people run aftermarket front shocks with the stock rear shock. In MX, you usually want to keep the front and rear the same. If you buy aftermarket front shocks, you'll eventually want to do something with the rear. Landing on the rear shock helps absorb some of the hit, too. So it wouldn't be a bad idea to just re-work the rear. Quote
