endofitall9 Posted May 24, 2005 Report Posted May 24, 2005 just got done rebuilding the whole engine with a new crank i get it all together and try to kick it with my hand but it wont kick so I check everything out and find that the pistons are hitting my head so i take the head off and the pistons come out the top just enough to catch the first ring on top of the jug. I just wanted to ask you all is there anyway I can tell what size stroker this is? and do I have to run a certain kind of pistons for this storker, in other words can i use my brandnew stock bore wiseco prolites with this stroker if i buy the stroker plate for it? thanks alot guys Quote
kw04 Posted May 24, 2005 Report Posted May 24, 2005 if you put in a stroker crsnk you either have to use a spacer plate betwweb the jugs and the cases or have the domes milled out.. hope that helps. Quote

My reccomendation is contaction a builder like fast racing or passion or A&s or someone like that. They may already have some domes already cut for a 4 mil motor. Swap domes if you have a cool head and you should be good to go. Quote
Rare Scottish Tree Badger Posted May 24, 2005 Report Posted May 24, 2005 ... so i take the head off and the pistons come out the top just enough to catch the first ring on top of the jug. ...thanks alot guys 373284[/snapback] Is it also a longrod for this to happen? ... A 4mm stroker only raises the piston height by 2mm. Rare. Quote

23champ Posted May 24, 2005 Report Posted May 24, 2005 You might need to run the 795 wiseco pistons. Its probably 115mm rods and 4mm stroke. You will either need to get your domes cut for the needed clearence, or get a spacer plate for the cylinders. I would recommend cutting the domes. Quote
C&B Posted May 25, 2005 Report Posted May 25, 2005 Here isthe problem. The piston is now coming out of the cyl, so of coarse the domes have to be cut. The other end of the deal is this, the cyls will have to be raised also, wich in turn changes port timing, wich will change the way the bike runs. Who ported it? I would get on the phone to see what the specs they used are on it. You may get the pistons to clear, but it may run like shit. Quote
endofitall9 Posted May 25, 2005 Author Report Posted May 25, 2005 Alright guys, I went to the machine shop and got a Vanir' Caliper (however you spell it) i measured how far and it comes out just a little over 2 thousandths so I'm guessing that would make it a 4 mill stroker? I already tore the motor back apart, I say screw it I'm going to get a different crank anybody interested in this one? Quote
Rare Scottish Tree Badger Posted May 25, 2005 Report Posted May 25, 2005 Have you got those magic shrinking rods on that crank? ... You said to start with that the piston was coming out far enough for the top ring to land on the top of the barrel. Now it's only coming out by 2 thou. ??? Rare. Quote
