t.spraker Posted May 16, 2005 Report Posted May 16, 2005 (edited) i have an 03 shee with just pipes and vforce 3's im at around 1000 feet elavation i checked the compression yesterday and it was at 100 psi is it time for a rebuild? any help would be great thanks. theeechozen1 Posted May 16, 2005 Report Posted May 16, 2005 you can pull off the jugs and throw some new (yamaha OEM) rings on your pistons for a quick refresh on compression. (six pack job) also if you take you head to a machine shop and have it milled down .030 while your at it that will give your ride some more spunk. as long as you haven't run your bike lean or overheated it too much the stock pistons will last a long time. make sure you get a new head gasket and spray it with copper coat to seal it up.
