watkins Posted April 2, 2005 Report Posted April 2, 2005 THis is a 2 month old stock shee... I removed the clutch cable from the lever so that I could lube it up. Now upon reinstalling it the clutch is engaging with the lever pulled. I turned the adjustment screw and the only way I can quit it engaging it to turn the screw almost all the way out with just 2 treads still in... does this sound right? I marked everything before i removed it and put everything back the same. Quote
fast87 Posted April 2, 2005 Report Posted April 2, 2005 (edited) check the lower clutch arm, it may have slipped out of it's "spot", it's under the catrbs on the top of the case. Also check your clutch perch to see if it is adjustable, on mine there is 3 different positions, eady, medium, and hard pull, but on the easy setting it doesn't pull the clutch out as far, so it's slightly engaged when i pull it in with the bike in gear...one of those two things should fix it, and also maybe you routed the cable differently than stock, which is pulling it a little...does it change when you turn left or right?? if it does find the problem and route it somewhere else ~Mark~ Edited April 2, 2005 by fast87 Quote
watkins Posted April 2, 2005 Author Report Posted April 2, 2005 (edited) Bike is totally stock.. nothing changed, when i put it in gear you can feel it try to move forward for like 1/2 a second.. but the wheels dont move.. if the bike is warm then it will idle like that.. is this normal? Update... for some reason it seems to have worked itself out.. strange.. i changed nothing.. walked away in anger.. came back calm and it was fine... hmmm Edited April 2, 2005 by watkins Quote
fixitrod Posted April 4, 2005 Report Posted April 4, 2005 You may get that sometimes when the oil is cold. Quote
