i don't if know anyone else has ever done this, I didn't find it in any searches on here, but i had to do something to get this bitch tightened up without the special tool. i took a few steel plates and fiber plates, lined them up, drilled and screwed them together and threw them on to lock the hub and basket together to create resistance. stuffed a wrag into the gears also. torqued right up to the spec, no problem. :clap: not bragging, but i thought it might be helpful for someone else. B)

That's how they tell you to do it in the Clymer repair manual.I've tried it before and it works well.
