ordering pro tapers.. What do i need

my handlebar setup is completely stock, can i get pro tapers that i can just bolt on without any risers or other mods? what are all my possible optionsi can do? quick guys only have a hour before i have to go thanks, boys

i dont think you need anything as long as there the standard size bars

Protapers are going to be a 1 1/8" bar. You will need an adapter to mount them to the stock 7/8" receiving end on the steering stem.

pro tapers only come in a fat bar?

They are a tapered bar. The only way to taper it is to have it "bulge" in the middle, then its rolled down to 7/8" to fit the standard size grips and controls.

 

Being tapered and mandrel bent makes them stronger than a stock bar.

ok i see now.i know fat bars are stronger then stock. i never knew that pro tapers only came in a fat bar and not a standard too

Pro Tape also makes a 7/8 bar. I use them on my MX bike and love them. They also do a universal clamp for the Fat Bars, it costs 40.00 bucks. Either way you are going to be happy. I would save the money and go the the 7/8 bar myslef, JMO.

Don't the non tapered bars typically have a brace between the bars and the tapered bars do not, hence the benefit of the tapered bars?
