banshdog Posted March 1, 2005 Report Posted March 1, 2005 I am going to upgrade my impeller this weekend. Other than the impeller itself, what parts do you guys recommend changing out while it is apart? Thanks. Quote
Leadfoot350 Posted March 1, 2005 Report Posted March 1, 2005 you might need a gasket for the clutch cover if it tears when you take it off. Quote
sandornothing Posted March 1, 2005 Report Posted March 1, 2005 Add engine ice. $16.95.......and you will have about a qt left over. Quote
05bansh Posted March 1, 2005 Report Posted March 1, 2005 When I changed my impellar I put in a ez-drain by pro design, switched to engine ice, and put on a noss head. You may have to replace the clutch gasket. Just be careful when taking the clutch cover off and you should be good. Quote
racer Posted March 2, 2005 Report Posted March 2, 2005 i replaced the bearing that the shaft rides on, not sure why, the other was still good. gonna need a new water pump gasket as well. Quote

banshdog Posted March 3, 2005 Author Report Posted March 3, 2005 I have the coolant and oil draned, water pump cover off, the plate off and the seal removed. How does the impeller itself come out? Quote
DUNEDEMON Posted March 3, 2005 Report Posted March 3, 2005 While looking at the back of the pump theree is a white plastic gear, remove the "c" clip holding the gear in place, slide the gear off, remove the roll pin from the impellar shaft, slide impellar out through the front.........Done Don't lose the "c" clip!
