I rejetted today. Runs GREAT! Idles good, starts easy. I did a plug chop at WOT. No chocolate ring at all. The tip of the plug looks kinda brownish, but the white element still looks new with no ring. I think I'm still lean, but do I go up a jet size or play with my needle clip position? I was running rich before rejet, so I didn't bother changing clip position. i still have 310 & 330 mains(it's all they had)!

FYI--stock needle, stock pilot, 290 main on 2001 Shee, T-5's, milled head, no airbox lid, stock filter, sea level, 60 degrees, 93 octane @ 50:1 premix.

Hope this is enough info.

Don't mix it 50:1...don't matter what the guys tell you on this site.!

I'm running 32:1, my shee is still faster than shit, and its alot safer <_<

290's seem ok for the mods you have, I would say 310 should be more than enough.. I've never had the choco ring on my plugs, so I dunno. I always read the tip of the plug. Compare to your manual, if your light brown, you should be ok.

first you need to secure the air filter.the lid holds the stock filter in place. If the filter is not secure that will allow more air, and a leaner condition.

The proflow adaptor with a k&n filter is the way to go with the stock air box.

Personnally I would jet up until I was a little rich, and back off one. :bolt:

Ok, let me see if I can answer everyones questions. No not 310 in one and 330 in other carb I have 290's in them and still have extra 310's and 330's to try out. I've got 2 screws in my air filter to keep it in place, waiting for my K&N proflow to get here next week.

*Does everyone agree that I should be ok if the tip of the plug is brown, but no ring on the white element in the plug?

*I was gonna switch to 40:1 mixing to see how she acts, good idea or what?

*as long as I have no hesitation or bog from 1/4 to 3/4 throttle, I don't need to adjust my needle clip position right?

when i had t5 they came with toomey needles which are richer, they ran on 4th clip.

i would put 310 or 330 in for sure. with pro design fitler, v force, t5, no lid i ran 340 was perfect

go big till it runs like crap and go back one or two sizes. 330 would probably be good
