jmoore Posted February 7, 2005 Report Posted February 7, 2005 Iv'e read about it, but I don't get it. Someone help the newbie. What's the process? Quote
fixitrod Posted February 7, 2005 Report Posted February 7, 2005 The idea is to look at the very bottom of the porcelin inside the plug. Here's BenBB's page for jetting and plug chops. http://www.dfn.com/benkaren/jetfaq.html If you scroll down to #33 he has pics. Quote
SANDSTAR Posted February 8, 2005 Report Posted February 8, 2005 The simple way is to stick a small flat blade screwdriver down inside the spark plug until it is at the bottom between the porcelean and the metal. Gently pull back on the screwdriver until the porcelean(sp) cracks. It will crack vertically and come out in two pieces, of which you can examine up close for jetting purposes. This is much faster than hacking the threads. Takes about 2 seconds, and you don't even need to let the plug cool down. I was skeptical until I tried it. Quote
