Keep it in the garage,or at least keep it covered. Depends how cold it is. Draining the carbs is prety much it, also starting it once in a while isnt a bad idea. Just if you want to ride it, make sure you warm it up completly before riding. You may even have to up the mains one to compensate with the cold....

This is just what I would do.

to winterize it you fill it up with gas and go play in the snow!!!!

Get some fuel stabilizer and put it in your tank. Double the mixture they recommend. Then turn the fuel off and ride it till it runs out of fuel. Your carbs are pretty much empty and the stabilizer on the internal stuff will keep it from getting nasty. After you do that, drain the tank, and maybe even rinse with straight gast and that's really it. When winter's over, put new fuel in, change the case oil, and maybe the rad fluid for the hell of it and your pretty much ready to go.

Get some stabilizer and use it no matter what, will make your life much easier later on.

You can also put fogging oil or a tablespoon or two of 2 stroke oil in each cylinder then crank it over by hand after doing what shredish said. Then grease all your zerks to get any water out. Tip the quad up onto the grab bar to let the water drain out of the frame. Make sure you have a good 50/50 mix of antifreeze and water in the cooling system.

Yeah, it keeps the condensation from creating rust in the cylinders. Keeping a full tank isn't a bad idea until spring then you can empty it. This way condensation doesn't build in the gas tank. I use to have a boat I use to winterize. It's was similar.

If you're going to ride it twice a month, just make sure the coolant is 50/50. Other than that, have fun.

You don't need to do most of the other things including the oil in the cylinders.
