Alright, I just tried sanding on my clutch cover and then tried polishing a little piece. I understand that patience is needed for this and just realized that I don't have it.

I need someone to volunteer to polish my cover for me, I'll pay. We may need to negotiate, i won't let you rob me, but I will pay.

Come on, bring on the peeps.

Scott,

That's why my parts come with a 'fine machined finish'....Not Polished..

Just getting the black paint off of all the nooks and crannys is gonna be enough to drive any half normal person insane. I did some stainless pipes that were glass blasted and it was enough to drive me nuts. I would be willing to give it a try though.

I could probably do it for around 80 and you pay the shipping. Looks like we are close so that shouldn't be too bad. It does take some time though and at least 3-4 days just sitting in some stripper ( paint stripper lol). Heres mine I did a few months back.

Thats why I might start doing the same thing, and polish for extra cash. Its a serious pain in the ass.

I like doing it, but after I've sanded on a set of pipe hangers for nearly an hour to get every line I can out of it, only to polish it and find I missed 1/2 of them... banghead

Its tough work.

scott, i don't blame the least bit for not wanting to polish that cover. i would eventually like to have mine polished but i don't want to to it my self

RNBRAD, that shee is looking damn good.

RNBRAD... :notworthy: ...That is some work...If you did ALL of that engine bay wow...That is some intricut work to say the least...I have done quite a bit of polishing but mine was mostly larger auto parts.

Anyways...Sredish...If you get it stripped down it should already be pretty smooth. Meaning you may not even have to sand the metal. And if you do use a 800grit and finish with a 12-1400 wetsand....This is gonna make the work gravy/easy...

Also...Get you a bench polisher...I got one with two shafts...One wheel for prepping before I do the final luster polish on the second wheel...I have always gotten great results with even the nastyest of casts'...By the time you pay to have it done you can have your own gear to do it yourself with ease...Beware though...Once you do one piece and find out how simple it can be with the right tools it can be kinda adicting..hahaha

I protect my polished aluminum with ZOOP Seal...The shit seems to hold up to heat and moisture pretty well on my cars...The Banshee parts would be the real test but it could not hurt, and would prolly save alot of up-keep later on.

That looks sweet RNBRAD, can you give the step by step instructions on how you did that or link? I've never thought of doing it but I think I could handle it and it'd give me somthing to do over the winter.

I forgot to add, it's already been bead blasted and I've sanded 1/2 of it with 240 already, tho it probably still needs a little more. No black paint whatsoever.

I'm gonna stop by my chromer and see what he has to say about it.
