Banshee17Racing Posted December 13, 2004 Report Posted December 13, 2004 (edited) Take a look at this. I wouldn't have any use for the bike, but I'll sure as hell take that motor! THE BIKE Edited December 13, 2004 by Banshee17Racing Quote
super88_banshee Posted December 13, 2004 Report Posted December 13, 2004 It really doesn't look that fast, you'd always win cuz people would be falling over laughin at you, and wondering what it is Quote
Banshee17Racing Posted December 13, 2004 Author Report Posted December 13, 2004 (edited) Nah, I don't want the bike. Hell...stock 1000cc bikes could keep up with that. I've just never seen a "turbo kit" for an RZ350 motor . But maybe i'm not looking hard enough. I want to see that motor in a shee! It'd be a hell of a lot easier to transplant that motor than an R1 motor. Edited December 13, 2004 by Banshee17Racing Quote
RNBRAD Posted December 13, 2004 Report Posted December 13, 2004 The R1 motor would last a hellofa lot longer though. Quote
KenF Posted December 14, 2004 Report Posted December 14, 2004 Hi Guys That's my bike on e-bay I logged on to put up a post on it but I see you guys already found it. Technically it is a quad (if you count the wheelie bars) I would be interested in selling the motor if it doesn't sell as a unit. I have had one guy already ask for the roller without the motor. Quote
tithead Posted December 14, 2004 Report Posted December 14, 2004 how much would you be looking for the motor? Quote
KenF Posted December 14, 2004 Report Posted December 14, 2004 The kit retailed for $5600 USD. I will see the whole "turn key" motor for that much. (plus shipping) Includes Pipe, turbo, plenum. Complete fuel system, pump, regulator, carbs. Extra turbo jets, dyno sheets and what other little nik-nacks I find in the shop that belong to the motor. I would like to keep the igntion, it is off my 81 RD LC. The stock banshee ignition works good with Arctic cat 800 coils. I'll include the "jobber" Arctic cat 800 coils that I use. I'll throw in the Digatron 3 window exhaust/rpm gauge It will bolt right into a banshee with one minor change. I shortened the distance between the turbo and the plenum so it would fit into my bike. The stinger on the pipe would have to be lenghened a couple inches. "Stock bore" 2mm over. Aerodyne turbo Methanol (modified stock carbs) Stock '81 RD LC CDI ignition. 142HP at 18lbs boost. Motor built and dyno'ed by A&S racing. RZ350 case and tranny. Banshee cylinders. Crank welded and balanced. Wiesco hot rods. Stock tranny, ( c/w 5 speed override, needs 2nd gear) MRE lockup. Thrust washer on clutch push rod. Hinson billet clutch basket. Quick change clutch cover. If your SERIOUS I would consider pulling the post off e-bay if no one has bid over the reserve. Quote
KenF Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 OK folks, looks like I'm better off to sell the motor and rolling chassis seperately. The e-bay auction is now for the motor only. All cards on the table, I have set the reserve at $4000 Happy bidding Quote
alcoholbanshee Posted December 18, 2004 Report Posted December 18, 2004 That's a hell of a deal. The fastest quad I've seen on the blacktop was Dan from A&S's personal 350 turbo bike 5.90's in the 1/8th 9.90's in the 1/4. Seen it with my own eyes. That is smokin fast for a 350. This motor would be the same as Dan's as they have essentially no portwork done at all. I have also seen another A&S turbo 350 in the sand running 3.90's in 300 foot. And I have seen Dan's 350 turbo bike run 3.80's in the sand. This motor is no joke. It is a real badass motor. It would probably cost $7500.00 to build. To KenF you may want to talk to Dan he may just buy the setup back from you. Those turbo's are pretty tough to come by. And he prefers to use them. Quote
KenF Posted December 18, 2004 Report Posted December 18, 2004 Thanks for the endorsement. The motor has very low hours on it too, compared to a quad used for the dunes. About 15 races, that's less than one weekend out on the dunes. Quote
